Researching into doctoral students‘ journey

During my presentation I will present and discuss a research project concerning how doctoral students experience and subsequently deal with situations of uncertainty as they appear in the course of their doctoral studies. Since my presentation is supposed to provide an example of a possible research project in higher education, I will specifically address three main points. The first is auto-biographical and it concerns the reasons and motives behind my choice of studying doctoral students. The second concerns the methodological challenges that I had to face (and still have to) in relation to studying doctoral students‘ experience. The third is a reflection concerning being a researcher studying other researchers.
